Appearance: Silver is a silvery-white hedgehog who stands at 3'3" tall and weighs approximately 77 lbs. He sports five short quills coming off the top of his head and two long downward-curved quills on the back of his head, as well as two short, sharply curved quills on his back. He has a mane of long white fur around his neck that extends partly down his chest. His eyes are gold, and are bordered by black fur. His gloves are white with gold cuffs and a teal circle on each palm. He also wears navy blue boots with teal toes, a white stripe up the front, and gold cuffs at the top.

Personality: Silver is naive, stubborn, and occasionally a bit bossy. However, he has a strong sense of justice, and is very caring. He is very accepting of those who are rejected by others, and though he may sometimes come across first as brash and immature, he values his friends highly.

Abilities/Strengths: Unlike Sonic and Shadow, Silver is not a terribly fast runner; his abilites are not physical, but mental. Silver wields psychokinesis - the ability to affect objects with his mind. He can pick up, move, and throw both items and people of varying sizes, although the smaller something is, the more freely it can be manipulated. Silver can use his psychokinesis on himself as well, enabling him to levitate and glide.

Additionally, Silver holds in common with Sonic and Shadow the ability to use a homing attack, in which he curls himself up into a ball and flings himself at an enemy; a spin dash, in which he curls into a ball on the ground and shoots forward at great speed; and transformation into a super state when exposed to all seven Chaos Emeralds. With an Emerald, he can use Chaos Control, but has only ever done so to open a warp portal and in the presence of one of the other hedgehogs, so he is not very experienced with the other usages of Chaos Control.

Silver's personal strengths lie in his devotion to his friends and to his mission to restore his world. Along with this comes a moral compass strongly based on compassion and the desire to do what is just and fair.

Weapons: Silver's psychokinesis and its ability to affect objects is his only weapon.

Weaknesses: Physically, Silver is of average speed and strength, which, in his world at least, is a weakness. He can also be gullible at times, and somewhat immature. However, his main weakness lies in his dependency on his friends, particularly Blaze the Cat. Without their reassurances, Silver is often self-conscious and unsure of himself and unsure of what to do.

History: 200 years in the future, the eternal flames of the immortal monster Iblis have ravaged the world. Silver and his friend Blaze have tried many times to end the continual burning and destroy the monster, but have failed every time and grown frustrated. It is after another such attempt that a dark hedgehog appears and introduces himself to the two as Mephiles. He states that in order to fix things, Silver must go back to 200 years in
the past, where everything began, and destroy the one who unleashed the monster: the so-called "Iblis Trigger," a blue hedgehog. Silver agrees to accomplish this to save his world, and so Mephiles sends him and Blaze to the past.

Upon arriving in the kingdom of Soleanna, in the "present day" of the main timeline, Silver discovers he's been separated from both Blaze and Mephiles. He wanders, lost, until he meets Amy, who briefly mistakes him for Sonic. She, of course, is looking for Sonic, and although Silver doesn't realize he's looking for the
same person, he agrees to help her find him if she will help Silver find the Iblis Trigger in return. Once they do find him, Silver tries to kill Sonic but is stopped by Amy, who tells him that if it came down to choosing between the world or Sonic, she would choose Sonic.

Surprised at how well-loved his supposed enemy is, Silver begins to question the morality of killing someone to save the world. Blaze finds him and tells him that regardless of whether or not such an action is moral, if he does nothing, nothing will change. Motivated once more, Silver sets after Sonic only to be stopped by Shadow, who steps in to defend Sonic. Upset about his defeat and determined to continue his mission, Silver induces a Chaos Control at the same time as Shadow does, and the combination rips a hole in space-time. The two use the rift to travel back in time 10 years, when everything regarding the current incident apparently began. Shadow and Silver witness the duke of Soleanna's unintentional splitting of the creature Solaris into Iblis and Mephiles. The duke seals Iblis into his daughter Elise, as only one of royal blood can contain the flames, and Mephiles disappears into the dark.

Having realized the truth about Mephiles' creation, Silver decides that Sonic is not his enemy after all, and returns to the present to help him save Elise. This done, Sonic gives Silver a second Chaos Emerald with which to seal Iblis in the future. He and Blaze return to their own time period, but Silver is unable to seal Iblis within himself; however, Blaze is of the royal family and sacrifices herself to seal the flames into her body.

Silver watches, grief-stricken, as his best friend disappears. The future – his own time - had been saved, finally, and his mission was complete, but at what cost? However, it wasn't long before it became clear that things weren't over, after all. Back in Soleanna in the present time, Mephiles had found a way to kill Sonic himself, and through Elise's tears, Iblis was released. Intent on taking the world for his own, Mephiles merged with Iblis to become Solaris again, and the creature began to tear down the barriers of time itself. The past, present, and future all collided to become one dying reality, and it was up to everyone involved to help gather the Chaos Emeralds once more, which had been scattered, so that Sonic could be revived and the monster could be destroyed. Silver set out to recover an Emerald, but before he could complete his task, he found himself quite suddenly in what appeared to be yet another world – and face-to-face with a man in white, who introduces himself simply as the Warden.
